- LOCATION
- ~~~~~~~~
- Your location information is used in the beacon
- message and mail signature.
-
- The beacon message is a short bit of text that your
- station transmits periodically to let other stations
- know where you are and that you are switched on should
- they wish to contact you.
-
- The mail signature is a short piece of text that is
- appended to your mail messages automatically. The
- signature when produced by this program will include
- details of your location, IP address, and mail
- information but you may wish to "tart" it up a bit
- (not too much as it wastes air time). Your signature
- is found in the PCELM\<callsign>.SIG directory, off
- your NOS installation path. PLEASE REMEMBER that
- although those graphics look great on your computer,
- they may look like a mess of spaghetti on the guys
- screen down the road because he's using an Apple Mac
- or an Amiga, so keep it simple!!!
-
- You should keep the location information as concise
- as possible. For example;
-
- Northaw, Hertfordshire, UK
-
- is where I live. Northaw is a village in
- Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom. Abbreviations
- are a good idea if they are standard and recognised
- WORLD WIDE.
